Introducing Headquarters 23 to 26

The cap for the level of all buildings (inside and outside the wire/wall) has now been increased to level 26. This is a significant increase from the previous level cap of 22, which lasted for months. It is estimated that it will be at least three months before the cap is raised, but likely longer, as there are a significant amount of new base levels included in this one update. Most players are still trying to figure out what this update means for them, so hopefully this post helps clarify the impact of this new release.

How do you upgrade to HQ 23 and beyond?

First of all, to get in on the new action you will need a few things, including a ‘Headquarters 23 Blueprint’ which can only be obtained from sales of the largest pack Mobile Strike offers. You will also need trillions of resources (not including food) and over a million Legendary hammers. The picture below illustrates the requirements.hq23upgradereq

On launch day, the packs containing the aforementioned blueprint were available at a purchase price of £79.99. However, the day after the release a new pack was introduced offering it at a 20% discount, dropping the price to £63.99 as you can see.

20offpack

What are the benefits of increasing the level of your buildings from 22?

There are numerous large benefits from upgrading to level 23 and up. From the blog post introducing this update key features include (all buildings at level 25):

  • 7 million solo deployment size (HQ)
  • Ability to see opponents research when scouting & 50% attack debuff on defense (Radar Station)
  • 35 million rallies with 75% additional rally attack bonuses (War Room)
  • 10% longer lasting core gear, and all crafting 400% speed boost (Armory)
  • 500% boosts to all troop attack, defense and health (Death Row)
  • 150% all troop attack boost per prisoner held (Prison)
  • Reinforcement capacity increased by 7 million and troop defense increased 50% (Embassy)
  • 40 extra commander skill points, and 25 extra rebel target skill points (Hall of Heroes)
  • 20% increase in all troop defense, 300% accuracy boost and 40,000 troop queue (Training Grounds)
  • 100% health boost and 200,000 capacity (Hospital)
  • 100% attack boost, 35% training speed increase and 300% armor piercing (Bank)
  • 10million resource help capacity& 250% faster trade deployment boost (Trading post)
  • 100% boost to trap attack and defense, 750,000 increase in trap capacity & 60% increase in trap training speed (Wall)
  • Research awareness ability unlocked & 70% research speed boost (Research Facility)
  • Protect up to 1.61billion of each resource in attacks (Warehouse)
  • Significantly increased resource production and capacity for all resource producers outside the wall (but you’ll need trillions to upgrade the other buildings so you’ll be unlikely to be below the resource production cap)

What are the rewards for upgrading now?

There is currently the ‘Race to Headquarters 23’ challenge offering tier 3 prizes for upgrading to HQ 23. There is also the ‘Super Rare Challenge’ which offers rewards for upgrading HQ 23(100 points), research facility level 23 (50 points), radar station level 23 (50 points), HQ 24 (100 points) with prizes for tier 1 at 100 points, tier 2 200 points and tier 3 300 points. These challenges are likely to end shortly.

Who is this update for, and what does it suggest about the state of the game?

controlpointhqlevelseg

From a screenshot of a state’s control point one can see this update will primarily favour the biggest spenders who are willing and able to max out their Headquarters. Developers reducing the price of the pack by 20% the next day, and maintaining this lower price suggests that they are trying to analyse how many players will buy the pack. Hopefully, pack prices will be reduced, as although upgrading to HQ 23 along with a few other buildings is attainable with one pack purchase, going any further requires much more spending. With ever higher combat boosts being unlocked by the biggest players, the damage dealt by rally and solo hits will continue to rise so it is highly recommended to shield when offline if you’re hittable.

Re-introducing Insignias

The monument building was released a while back, and as insignias continue to be released, a refresher seemed prudent.

Insignias have been brought back to the forefront of action with the recent game update which let the monument be upgraded to level 2.
If you are able to upgrade it to level 2, you will be able to place another insignia on your monument. Most insignias last 1 hour, although there are some exceptions which you can see later in this post.

They offer useful boosts in combat, research, troops, the vault, rebel targets, daily missions and even now global gifts.

As you can see, to upgrade to level 2 requires one ‘Insignia Slot’ and this can only currently be obtained from a BOGO 50% $99.99 purchase. No other packs currently offer this.
As you can see, to upgrade to level 2 requires one ‘Insignia Slot’.
On launch, the pack was only obtainable from a BOGO 50% $99.99 purchase. They remain only obtainable from the largest pack.
On launch, the slot was only obtainable from a BOGO 50% $99.99 purchase. It still is only available from the largest packs.

What Makes Insignias so Important?

The most important point about insignias is that you are able to re-use them free of charge an unlimited amount of times, without one ever being destroyed. This means you should always use your highest level insignia if looking for boosts. The only exception is if you are using an insignia which has a cooldown longer than one hour, but many of the more frequently used insignias have cool down times below that of the time they are active, so they can basically be used indefinitely.

The Extra Insignia Slot from Research

If you wish to unlock the second insignia slot through research, it is available in the Building Development research tree. This tree also offers a lot of other beneficial boosts- increased hospital capacity, increased research speed, increased wall trap capacity and more! If you have the resources, you should definitely consider completing it.

As you can see, the 2nd Insignia slot research requires having level 3 of the researches above it in the tree, and below level 2. It can be costly to unlock, but once you have it, it will be permanent.

There aren’t too many insignias currently, but Mobile Strike developers introducing things like “Commander Troop Attack Insignia II” suggests to me that more and more will be created… i.e. III, IV, V.

The best insignias to use currently (at level 6)

(*Boost size or percent followed by cool down time, denoted as CD)

For Troop Training:
1-Troop Academy (Promotion size +300k, Troop queue +100k, Promotion speed +500%, Training speed +50%, CD 1 hour)
2- Drill (Troop queue +10k, CD 24 hours

For the Vault:
1-      Investment ( Interest rate +12%, Max deposit + 19,200, CD 24 hours)
2-      Vault (Interest rate +6%, Max deposit +9,600, CD 24 hours)
Note, these can be used continuously as they also last 24 hours when active.

For Research:
1-      Technician’s (Research speed +40%, CD 1 hour)
2-      Lab Rat (Research speed +30%, CD 24 hours)

For Rebel Targets:
1-      Rebel Destroyer (Energy cost -10%, Commander rebel attack +50%, CD 24 hours)
2-      Energy (Max Energy Limit +50k, CD 4 hours)

For Attacking (other players):
1-      Commander Troop Attack II (+500% all troop types attack, CD 1 hour and also requires commander in deployment, so good for rallying)
2-      Obliteration (+500% all troop types attack, CD 1 hour)
3-      Power Enhancement (Troop attack boosts based on amount of enhanced core gear equipped, +420% at max- means you have to wear core gear, CD 1 hour)
4-      New Year’s Commander Troop Attack (+250% all troop types attack, CD 1 hour and also requires commander in deployment) or (if you think your troops may survive), Commander Troop Health II is better (+800% all troop health, CD 1 hour)

For Defending (from other players):
1-      Commander Troop Health II
2-      Commander Troop Defense (+250% all troop types defense, CD 1 hour)
3
Commander Troop Health (+250% all troop types health, CD 1 hour) or Obliteration Insignia or Commander Troop Attack Insignia II (if not killing entire attacking solo marches or rallies)

Other/Non-Essential, in list of importance:
1-      Global (x2 global gifts- lasts 5 hours, CD 24 hours. Quite useful when there are good global gifts being given out, e.g. 14 day speedups)
2-      Academy  (Commander XP modifier +50%- can lead to a lot of xp gained for commander if doing mass research/training/building, CD 24 hours)
3-      Gear Head (Manufacturing speed +30%- I don’t think many people manufacture gear much except core because packs have gear included, CD 24 hours)
4-      Missions (new Daily, Alliance and VIP missions +50% chance Legendary from base chance- when the chance of Legendary missions are so low as it is, this Insignia does not even double the base chance of them, therefore it’s pretty insignificant, but worth putting on anyway if re-rolling missions, CD 24 hours)
5-      Older combat insignias which offer smaller boosts (insignificant now with new releases), e.g. Medics +150% all troop types health or Attack +50% attack to all troop types

Additional Information:

Please remember you can only gain insignias from purchasing packs, so be careful to check the one you buy has the one you want before clicking pay! Some packs may even contain “Pick Your Own Insignia” crates which is helpful as you get to pick the insignia you want the most.

Unfortunately, even if you have more than one of the same insignia, you cannot use it more than the listed cooldown time, nor in both insignia slots if you have the second.

Any questions, ask below in the comments and I will answer you as soon as I see it.

Daily Bonus Club Demo

For any player recently logging into the game, you would have definitely spotted some new state boosts.
They are courtesy of the game developers and are not permanent, but rather a trial of the boosts Daily Bonus Club members receive while in the DBC state.

A quick analysis of the boosts and their usefulness…

Research

  • The mercenary future soldier file reduction is not very useful- it’s low and the tree has no resource or speedup reduction
  • Battle tactics and augments research only have a low resource cost reduction so no major incentive here
  • The overall research speed boost is significant, so any research you do will be considerably faster
  • The research file reduction is very large, so it’s likely while this boost lasts you will use no files
  • The research awareness ability allows research to be easier on complex trees
  • Mod set bonus has a large restricted file reduction and a small resource cost reduction so  it’s relatively attractive
  • Advanced combat research costs zero resources, and, has a big deduction on its future soldier file costs. Research does cost a bomb in speedups to complete though, however this is partially compensated by the challenge “race to advanced future soldiers”, offering prizes for research progress.
  • The regular future soldier restricted files boost allows you to make a lot of progress in the future soldiers research, even as a free player.

Other

  • The VIP point boost is small, but it is useful!
  • The 250,000 valor commendations cost reduction for your commander is only useful if you are a spender, and have enough commander xp to raise the level of your commander
  • 10 extra alliance help maximums are useful, but require your alliance members to actually click help. Applies to both research and construction.

Conclusion

Most of the boosts offered as part of the DBC trial are research based. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it allows players to catch up on research they may have missed, being smaller spenders or newer players.

The top three boosts are undoubtedly:

1- Regular Future Soldiers research

You can progress for free up to level 9/10 in the future soldiers research
You can progress for free up to level 9/10 in the future soldiers research

2- Research Awareness ability

As you can see, the ability highlights the next research in the tree to complete (which may not always be obvious!)

3- Advanced Combat research

Check you have enough speedups… research in this tree requires a lot
advfuturesoldchallenge
Great prices are currently being offered at tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3!

Please, get on and get researching! You won’t regret it, and will gain power and prizes in the process, without costing you many resources.
Make the most of these free Daily Bonus Club features, while you can.

The game developers recently introduced two new Daily Milestone Challenge events- one for you, and one for your alliance.
We would highly recommend completing them because they do not take much time or cost a lot to complete, and they offer awesome rewards.

Individual Daily Milestone Challenge

So far, developers have only shown three variations of the challenge:
1-  Shooting gallery (Hit targets on basic, full auto or ultimate mode- recommended switching to basic to use the least ammo, and it will take 10 shots)
2- Missions (Completing daily, alliance or VIP missions give points- does take quite a while so rerolls may be necessary)
3-Global gifts (Opening the blue crate and grey crate gives points-very fast)

Once you gain the minimum points, a food gift tile spawns on the map, which you must now collect for more points

As always, it is appreciated when the game developers introduce a new method of gaining prizes for all players, for free.
Make sure you make use of this opportunity, and utilise it to the fullest.

The newly developed Champion Gear Sets are now available for assembly. These ultra sets of gear promise never before seen boosts, with the greatest reaching over 100,000% Troop Attack. While this does seem remarkable, the boosts can only entirely be attained when Fully Enhanced Set (7) Bonus is in effect. Without this, the perks provided by the gear are significantly lowered. Enhancing the gear sets in the Combat Lab also notably accounts for the amount of boost they provide. Therefore, it is advised that set bonus and enhancements are completed in order to completely utilize the Champion Gear Sets.

There are 3 Sets that make up the 2017 Champion Gear. In order from worst to best, these are: Champion, Grand Champion, and Ultimate Grand Champion. From left to right, every one of the three Champion Sets utilizes the Infinity Rifle, Battle Visor, Battle Armor, Battle Walkers, and Battle Slicer.  The main difference between each gear set is obviously the amount of boost they provide, and the more powerful sets have additional decoration.

Champion Set

untitled

The Champion Set is the least powerful of the three, and is also the least difficult to acquire. The Champion Set alone provides decent benefit, and is durable enough to contend with most Core and Regular Sets.

Fully Enhanced Set (7) Bonus: 10,800% Troop Attack, 10,800% Rally and Control Point Troop Health, and 5,400% Rally and Control Point Troop Defense.

Grand Champion Set

untitled

The very same armor worn by Hunters, the Grand Champion Gear Set is the second most powerful Champion set. This set is far more difficult to obtain than the normal Champion Set, as materials and gear are found exclusively in 2017 Champions Mystery Crates.

Fully Enhanced Set (7) Bonus: 32,000% Troop Attack, 32,000% Rally and Control Point Troop Health, and 50,000% Rally and Control Point Troop Defense.

Ultimate Grand Champion Set

untitled1

Flush with gold, the Ultimate Grand Champion Set is the best of the best. This set requires the greatest amount of effort and cash to attain, but in return grants amazing boosts. Like the Grand Champion Gear, Materials and Gear for this set are found solely in Champions Crates, however are far more scarce.

Fully Enhanced Set (7) Bonus: 100,000% Troop Attack, 100,000% Rally and Control Point Troop Health, and 50,000% Rally and Control Point Troop Defense.

2017 Champions Mystery Crate

img_3857

2017 Champions Mystery Crates are purchased in sales. Champions Crates contain Materials to manufacture Grand and Ultimate Grand Champion Gear, as well as Collectibles that can be swapped for said gear. The crates can also grant armor pieces in place of materials or collectibles. Champions Crates also supply Cells that are needed for enhancing Champion Gear Sets in the Combat Lab.

As if Normal Future Troops weren’t good (or expensive) enough, Advanced Future Troops are now ready for deployment. These highly trained combat units are prepared to fight alongside their other T5 troop counterparts. All three types of Tier 5 units are similar, however, each have the unique capabilities of their type.

img_3845

Because of the update, 3 types of Advanced Future Troops are now available. They are Protectors, Stalkers, and Phantom Jets. In addition to the troops, there are also 3 types of Traps. These are Spider Drones, Plasma Barriers, and Defense Turrets. An extension to the Advanced Combat Tree was made in order to accommodate the new units and other research. While researching T5 Advanced Troops, a level 17 Troop Academy, as well as Advanced Future Soldier files, are necessary.

img_3846

Completing the newly enhanced combat tree bestows some pretty major combat benefits, seen below:

Combat Additions: 2 Million Troop Max Solo Deployment Size, 10 million Troop Max Rally Size, and 3 Million Max Embassy Capacity

Combat Boosts: 500% Health for all Troops, 750% Defense for all Troops, 1500% Attack for all Troops, 1000% Rally and Control Point Attack, 500% Prisoner Bonus Multiplier

Set Bonus Perks: 65% Base and Full Set Bonus Boost

Combat Lab Bonuses: 100% Enhancement Efficiency, 100% Disassemble Efficiency, and 100% Break Efficiency

Rebel Benefits: 100% Rebel Target Deployment Speed

Commander Ransom

In addition to these enormous boosts, there is now the ability to impose a Commander Ransom. By using a Ransom Note, one can “persuade” a captured commander’s owner to pay a fee to ensure their commander’s safe return home. If they accept, you will find yourself with a large sum of gold and their commander will go home. If not… they will almost certainly need a medical kit. The Ransom system is foolproof once the ransom is offered, so one a ransom is paid, the captured commander automatically is released and returns home.
