How to Buy Gold Packs at a Discount
If you’ve gotten serious about Mobile Strike, or Epic War’s parent company’s game Game of War: Fire Age you’ve probably noticed that the gold packs you need to be competitive get rather expensive, rather quickly.
But there’s one thing you can do to help cut your costs by right around 20%.
And that thing is to buy your packs using Amazon Coins. This is not a very intuitive thing. I doubt too many people know Amazon has their own third-party app store that you can download on Android devices and on PC (may also be possible on Mac, but I don’t have one to confirm with).
If you have an Android-based phone or tablet, it’s super easy to get discounted packs. If you are using a PC or Mac, you’ll need to download an Android emulator, which is a piece of software that will launch an artificial Android runtime environment over top of Windows or whatever majestic creature the Mac UI is called now. I would highly, highly recommend using Nox APP Player as it is free and infinitely customizable. After you download and open Nox or your emulator of choice (BlueStacks is frequently mentioned as well, but it isn’t free), the process is the same.
1.) Go to your preferred browser, then go to Amazon.com and download “Amazon Underground,” or Google “Amazon Underground,” then click through and download it. If you use Amazon Video with Amazon Prime or something like that you may already have it so you just open it and follow the next step. You’ll likely need to enable “Download from Unknown Sources” even though you know where it’s coming from if you don’t already have it. This is perfectly fine. If you don’t have an Amazon account, you’ll need to make one, so I’d do that first if it was me.. but you can wait until you want to buy the coins.
After you’ve downloaded Amazon Underground, you’ll notice that it’s basically a free-standing app store.
2.) Next you’ll type “Mobile Strike” into the search bar at the top of your screen and click on it, then click “Get.” This will download another full version of the app in which payment is linked to your Amazon account. On Android phones, I haven’t found any reason you can’t delete the original, Google Play Store-linked version of the game if you want to free up the space.
3.) You’re ready to buy Amazon coins. Click on the denomination you want, and keep in mind the more you buy at once, the more you’ll save. For a standard $99 pack, it’s $79 or $81 depending on the day. If you buy the 50,000 coin option you’ll see the savings go up to 25%, but it’s a higher initial outlay.
The above screenshot is when I was not logged in to Amazon. You can see the added savings on bulk purchasing below. So if you didn’t figure it out, if you buy full gold packs you’re getting a pack and a fourth of one free.
Once you log in or create a new Amazon account, you’ll need to add gift cards or a form of credit or debit card payment to your Amazon account as well if you don’t already have one. When you search for and go back to the Amazon coins option (I usually just use the search bar again but you can go through your account also), you’ll see payment options on the right. Click through and purchase whatever denomination of coins you’d like, and you’re ready to go.
4.) Open the new version of Mobile Strike you just downloaded from Amazon Underground. It’ll be the second one listed until you moved the icon. When you find the sale you want, click on the appropriate icon, and you’ll be prompted to select a form of payment. You’ll click “Use Amazon Coins,” the top option.
Here’s where the savings come in, even if it doesn’t feel like it. If you buy a full-price pack, it’ll cost 10,000 coins… which only cost you $79 or $81. If a holiday is happening, it’ll be even less than that, particularly if you buy the coins in bulk up front.
Also, as an added perk Amazon will occasionally run specials where you’ll get coins back when you buy in-game, seen below.
This guide covers the how to buy and use them steps, but if you’re from an area that doesn’t allow the app store you can choose an address in the USA and link a new Amazon account to that address. But we didn’t tell you that.[ads]
